About Our Key Note Speakers:
Simon started his career as a researcher at universities, looking at the causes of childhood cancers, using heavy-duty statistical analysis. The need to talk only about what's known, and not just his opinion is one of the things that distinguishes him as a speaker and trainer. Fortunately, it's not a boring lecture! That's because he's also worked as a playwright, author, actor, lighting designer and even as a fire eater! That means he puts the science of what works over in a way that's not only easy to understand and apply but also entertaining.
Simon has clients ranging from Ireland to Singapore and has worked with everyone from individual poets to multinational companies such as Dell Computers and Renault! He's a sought-after speaker who trains the UK's leading professional speakers: he's written three books on presenting (one of which was a best seller and two of which vanished without trace!).
Senior Physical Preperation Coach at Sportscotland Insitute of Sport. Dave leads the Physical prepation coaching for Sportscotland throughout Grampian.
Donald MacNaughton is a widely-recognised high performance consultant, top-selling author and keynote speaker. Don integrates a progressive approach to the test thinking in sports psychology, neuroscience, leadership skills, and talent development to help individuals, teams and organisations achieve their highest performance levels.
Don is also the author of two best-selling guides to self-development entitled, “The 12 Hidden Laws of Performance” and “Talent Unlimited”.
Commonwealth Games gold medallist at both Delhi 2010 and Glasgow 2014, Hannah took silver at Gold Coast 2018 for a third straight 400m Individual Medley medal. Hannah first competed for Team Scotland at the 2004 Commonwealth Youth Games, taking silver and two bronze, before going on to compete at Melbourne 2006 where she finished 4th.
A triple Olympian she competed at the Beijing, London and Rio Games, where she finished 6th, 5th and 4th respectively. She has a phenomenal international record and is a multiple medallist at World Championships, European Championships and World Cup events her influence outside of the pool more than matches her ability in the pool as a talented all-round swimmer.
Hannah's key to success is never to give up, know that everything happens for a reason and always look for a positive in everything.
Simon Raybould - Emotional Resilience
To cite Martina Navratilova - it's not about how well you work when it's going well. Being the best is about how well you work when on your bad days - the days when you just can't get anywhere and the world seems out to get you. It's about how you stay positive and say working when the sensible thing would be to stop. There's no silver bullet, of course, but there is a lot of research about what's more likely to work than other things. This presentation is about those things... how to keep grinding out the work and how to stay focused and positive when everyone, including you, would rather just stop.
We'll use some of the tools developed by actors and dancers to stay focussed in ultra-hight pressure situations but we'll concentrate on the tools for 'emotional resilience' developed by psychologists and now used for everything from treating cancer survivors to astronauts.
David Boyd - Physical Preparation

Donald MacNaughton - The Performance Edge - Performance Environment’s in Practice

Hannah Miley - What does it mean to be an elite athlete
At what point do we hone our skills and become the top level performer? Sport has many different levels and aspirations but what does it mean to an athlete. The daily struggles, the super human abilities and how we view the world. Being an athlete is more than just a title its a way of being.
