Information

This 2-day national conference brings together leading stakeholders with responsibility for designing and delivering urban initiatives, to set out an agenda for inclusive and intelligent cities over the next decade. Not since the Urban Task Force has there been a collective exploration of how we undertake urban redevelopment. Inspiring Cities is a place for mayors and other major stakeholders such as LEPs, universities, and development agencies to take a closer look at the key challenges facing cities. The conference will set out a visionary blueprint for urban policy and strategy to secure inclusive growth and wellbeing.

Through keynote speeches, masterclasses and seminars, Inspiring Cities 2019 will provide a unique space for examining innovation in public service provision, new approaches to achieving inclusive growth, and the use of new tools such as urban and living labs, urban hacking, and social innovation. As such, the conference provides a space for advancing thinking and learning in urban studies and regeneration, and seeks to drive a programme of action and change within leading UK and international cities looking to position the city for a resource for securing growth.

Speakers, facilitators and hosts include:

  • Professor Michael Parkinson, Heseltine Institute for Policy, Practice, and Place
