During this workshop, led by textile artist Jess Hawley, you will learn the basics of natural, low-impact fabric dyeing to transform clothes and materials.
In this two part workshop, running Monday the 26th and Tuesday the 27th of April, you'll be taught techniques around preparing and utilising red cabbage dye to transform your preloved clothing into new, fresh and vibrant pieces!
These sessions will involve an exploration into different fabrics, mordants and dyeing equipment, as well as looking at ways to personalise your dyeing practice to suit your own needs and achieve different results.
You will first practice dyeing a number of folded patterns on recycled cloth before learning how to upcycle and transform your own chosen item of clothing using this traditional dyeing technique.
