Information

You’ve heard of smartphones, smart meters, smartwatches… Well now it’s the turn of smart materials says award-winning materials scientist,
engineer and communicator Dr. Anna Ploszakski. In the future, solid objects will react, sense, change and move according to their surroundings. This won’t be a result of clever robotics or electronics, but rather the fundamental properties of these so-called “smart materials”. Join Anna for this inspiring talk to find out more about our future, where living in self-regulating houses,
riding self-fixing bicycles or even driving on self- illuminating roads could all be very possible in the near future due to smart materials. This event is part of the Clean Growth Showcase part of Innovate UK.
